Considering Taking an Art Course?

Image
Creating art can be a fulfilling and exciting experience, and taking an art course can be a great way to explore your creativity and learn new techniques. In this article, we'll outline some of the key elements to consider when selecting an art course and provide tips on what to look for to ensure you get the most out of your experience. First and foremost, it's important to consider the type of art course you want to take. Are you interested in learning about a particular medium or style? Do you prefer classes that focus on painting, drawing, sculpting, or digital art? You can find courses that cover a wide range of topics and techniques, so it's important to choose a course that is tailored to your interests. It's also important to think about the length and format of the course. Some courses may be one-time workshops, while others are multi-session classes. Depending on the instructor, the teaching style may be more focused on individual instruction or more collabora

I'm not done yet!

Hello blog readers,  I've come bearing some rather unexpected news...  As of yesterday, a client and I have decided to go our separate ways. I was shocked at first, then upset, and oddly enough, relieved in a way.  There's a saying that goes, "when another door closes, a window opens." It's that 'window' that I REALLY want to share about.  As of this January, I'm in contract with a nearby Art Gallery to be their social media manager. If all goes well these next few months, I'll become an official partner.  So basically, that 'door' that closed gave me the freedom to pursue the open window- and I'm not missing this chance.  As you know, art has been a part of my life since a young age, and to suddenly have the opportunity to work alongside  an art gallery is nearly a dream come true.  I was so excited to present my ideas to them, I decked out the "proposal." I'm quite proud of the layout 😄 I'm not gonna lie and pretend

The funny thing about dreams is that they're constantly changing. At least for me, that is.  I've gone from wanting to be an interior designer, to a writer, to an artist, to at present, wanting to open my own art gallery.  I'm already an artist, but I want to become a successful one. I write often, but my writing style isn't something everyone will enjoy... In a way, I seem to be juggling several dreams.  Writing is part of my career.  Art is something I've done since I was a kid, what 'dream' I've pursued the most.  An art gallery is new territory- but I thought it'd be fun to explore.  I suppose the first thing I need to do is earn enough income to buy a place or rent a studio.  Dreams require steps to achieve them.  Income, knowledge and experience. I need all three before I start my own venture.  Until that's in order, I thought it would be best to start the gallery online.  I've created an Instagram just for that.  If you'd like to

New Year, New Opportunities

Life is a never-ending set of winding stone paths... The question is, which path do we take?  I'm not trying to give anyone an existential crisis or anything, but this seems to be the predicament that I'm in.  I've been working hard to find opportunities for my career. Applying left and right to openings on LinkedIn... but there are two things that seem to be holding me back: 1. My education (lack thereof) 2. My inexperience Most positions want 3+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree. Currently, I have neither.  I'm one of those people that feel that a college education isn't wholly necessary to be successful in life.  Even so, I can't help but kick myself for not knowing what I wanted to do... and dropping out of college only a semester in (I was also pregnant with my first at the time- I had terrible morning sickness).  BUT if I really take a step back and look at things, the ROOT issue is my lack of confidence.  I don't think I'm a bad writ
